70 TPD New Writing & Printing Capacity Comes in The Market

The Indian Readership Survey reflects that the domain size of writing and printing (W & P) paper consumers is increasing day by day. The habit of reading news and novel on paper is becoming new trend of emerging India. “Obviously, W&P paper is having 4.2% CAGR which require new capacities to be come in the market and offload the export burden,” a well placed sources said at newly started paper mill Khatushyam Paper Mills Pvt. Ltd.

Situated at near to Ahmedabad, Khatushyam Paper is expected to start the commercial production by April end. “We are aiming to manufacture 46 to 80 GSM paper with brightness upto 84% and if we make newsprint then the brightness will be low,” Sources disclosed. 

Indian Paper industry accounts for about 3% of the world's paper production. The estimated turnover of the industry is 50,000 crores approximately and is expected to reach more than 75000 crores by the end of 2023.

The domestic demand increased from 9.3 million tonnes in FY08 to 17.12 million tonnes at a CAGR of 6.3%. The industry provides employment to more than 0.5 million people directly and 1.5 million indirectly.

“We have procured an old plant and machinery with deckle size of 2.65 (Finished) and speed is designed at 430 m per min,” Sources said.
