Good Days are not far: Samji Karia

Ahmedabad, March 10, 2017: Federation of Paper Traders Association's (FPTA) President Mr. Samji Karia expressed his 'Good Days' expectation over Paper Industry slumping. Inaugurating the 2nd edition of Paper Expo -2017 in Ahmedabad, Mr. Karia said “we are expecting that Paper Industry is to grow by 5 to 6 percent in coming year adding more 5 to 6 million Tonnes paper consumption. Currently, India's total paper consumption is stand at 13 million tonnes approx., leading us to 10 to 11 Kg per capita consumption much below as compare to developed countries.  Coming ten years will be the golden era for paper industry.” The three days (10 to 12 March) exhibition on Pulp and Paper Industry organised by Aries Events was inaugu- rated by Paper Industry dignitaries. More than 70 plus exhibitors ranging from Paper Manufactures to paper traders churned out the business prospectus with visitors. Taking the concern of slowing down in paper industry due to the raw material price hike in international market, Mr. Karia explained that “there has been a price hike in pulp and waste paper about 15 to 20 percent in overseas market in last two months. The evaluation of price hike situation leads us to understand a cycle, which comes in every 3 to 4 years in international market. It is a normal periodical cycle when pulp shortage emerges.” During the event, Mr. Piyushbhai Patel, Managing Director of Amtech Electronics urged the importance of taking care the profitability of customers' customer. He said “We must think about the customer's customer profitability. If our customer is happy with us then he will not go to other supplier.
