Astron Paper starts production in Unit-II & III

In the midst of rising raw material demand for packaging companies under lockdown situation, state governments are giving conditional permission to paper mills for starting their operation. FMCG and Pharmacy companies are still delivering their services in nationwide lockdown mounting pressure on raw material availability for carton boxes production.

‘Packaging crisis’ is mounting the pressure on local administration to allow paper production in every state. In this chain, Astron Paper & Board Mill Ltd. has secured permission to operation its Unit-2 & 3.

Situated in Bhuj, Gujarat, Astron Paper started the production activities on Unit -2 almost one week ago with strict safety guidelines issued by the local administration.  

Talking to The Pulp and Paper Times, well-placed sources said, “Yes we have commenced the production on Unit-2 which produces kraft paper for packaging industry. We are following all the safety measures in the factory area like a medical check-up of employees, social distancing and sanitization process,”

Astron Paper & Board Mill Ltd received permission from Government of Gujarat (vide Collector of Bhuj, Gujarat) regarding commencement of Unit-2 located at Bhuj, Gujarat with a bare minimum strength of men power and with conditions / directions / guideline issued by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Govt of India and by Government of Gujarat with respect to preventive measures taken for this COVID-19.

Balaram Papers Private Limited, wholly-owned subsidiary of Astron Paper has also received permission to commence operation.

“We have also got permission for raw material movement from mudra port, but for finished goods movement, Packaging companies are transporting the goods from our godown through their vehicles, after procuring the requisite movement letter issued by concern authority,”

The clients of Astron Paper convert Kraft paper into cartons and supply to companies in FMCG, Home appliances, Pharmaceuticals, Auto, Food & Beverages, E-Commerce etc including large MNC's. These vendors prefer larger Kraft paper manufacturers, who can supply entire range of packaging paper, who also as required get their paper pre-approved by the client for paper quality and specifications. The demand for Kraft paper is strong and increasing with every year from new applications like fruit vegetables, groceries, plastic ban, e-commerce for repackaging and shipping.
