Crafted with Care: Gloris Paper rolls out absorbent kraft paper

Special absorbent kraft is a highly specialized paper and exclusively used as laminates for furniture, decoration panels, floor, and sun-mica. Absorbent lamination papers or furniture papers are normally laminated on to a particle or fiberboard, giving a good-looking and surface resistant wear and tear. A laminate consists of multiple layers and each has its own distinct function.

“Use of décor paper in the construction sector, buildings and fashion sector is also propelling the growth of the market. Increased consumption of organized furniture in the world, this is also contributing to the growth of the decor paper market. Décor paper is also used in the production of abrasion-resistant laminating flooring,” Said Mr. Dhaval Patel, Managing Partner, Gloris Paper LLP.

Situated in Morbi, Gujarat, Gloris Paper is planning to manufacture 170 TPD absorbent kraft paper with state-of-the-art infrastructure, “We already have a lamination unit in which we consume around 1200 tonnes of paper every month, so the selling of paper is not an issue for us. We are targeting to consume 30% paper production in-house and rest is to be sold domestically,” Mr. Dhaval informed.

"We are feeling proud to have started the production in our new mill. We have successfully produced the paper. We congratulate all JMC Paper Tech teams for their uninterrupted support and in-time delivery. Our focus will be on customer retention and supplying quality paper to buyers,” he said.

The new paper mill will have a deckle of 3850mm and the GSM range will be 100 to 180.

“We have invested INR 40 to 50 crore in setting up this plant choosing the best supplier for plant and machinery. JMC Papertech is supplying machinery and providing consultancy, while pulp mill section is to be supplied by Parason Machinery,” He said.

Decorative laminates are laminated sheets of brown Kraft papers and decorative printed papers fused using heat and pressure. They are attractive and protect the furniture from scratches, wear and tear, and fire risk. These laminates are used primarily for wall paneling and in furniture surface materials.
