Muzaffarnagar gets a new capacity of Tissue Paper and MG Poster paper

The COVID-19 pandemic changed people's way of life, including the usage of tissue paper. During the outbreak, online sales increased. It is clear that the increased consumption of tissue is brought on by changes in awareness concerning hygiene.

"It will be bounce back very fast. Tissue market growth pre-COVID was 12% and it is going to grow up to 15% in next 2 years because the personal consumption segment of tissue which was 35% earlier has gone to 45 - 50 % due to hygiene awareness. Away From Home will come back within next 6 months once this all associate industries will come back to normal operation," said Sakar Gupta, Managing Director, S.K. Paper Mills Pvt. Ltd.

With an investment of INR 30-35 crores, S.K. Paper Mills will set up a MG Poster and Tissue Paper production facility at recently acquired 22.5 bigha of land in Jolly Road, Muzaffarnagar, (U.P). "We are expected to start 70 TPD modern paper manufacturing facility by August this year. The machine has been designed to produce a cultural variety of white and colored poster papers. The substance range will be 18 to 150 g/sqmtr," Mr. Gupta informed.

S.K. Paper Mills is planning to export a handsome quantity of high BF kraft paper also (20-35 BF), value-added specialty grade of poster paper and food grade poster papers to various countries.

Mr. Sakar further underlines that significant applicability of High BF Kraft & poster paper are in the manufacturing of bags & pouches, wraps, labels & liners, envelopes, trays, cups, & bowls is expected to continue fueling the sales of machine glazed paper across the packaging and consumer products industries. Moreover, various other prominent end uses in food & beverages, healthcare, building & construction, electrical & electronics, personal care & cosmetics, textile, household, and automotive industries will remain the predominant booster for the growth of machine glazed paper market.

                     

The new paper mill has procured the paper machine from The Peer Machineries, and stock preparation equipment has been supplied by the PARASON Machinery. Paper machine has been designed to run at a speed of 500 m/min. and with 4.0 meters trim deckle at pope. 

“Our paper is going to be produced with 100% recycled fibre, mixture of imported as well as indigenous. Our Pulping process has been designed environment friendly without using any hazardous chemical,” he said.

Mr. Gupta said, "We have a vision which is a compelling picture of the future that inspires commitment. S.K. Paper Mills is able to produce consistent quality of acceptable paper under budgeted production. It will help in timely supply of paper especially for the export market needs"

"We feel that, when S.K. paper mill will get a start, the demand of MG poster paper may increase more than 20%,” Mr. Sakar Gupta concluded.
