Sri Luxmi Tulsi Agro to Undergo PM-IV Installation

July, 25, 2017, Rajahmundry (India): Sri Luxmi Tulsi Agro paper is going to undergo a major expansion plan on fourth Paper Machine (PM-IV). Talking to The Pulp and Paper Times, Mr.Krishna Reddy, Managing Director of the company said “we are very much hopeful about the growth of Indian packaging market. Consumer demand will  boost after good monsoon and rolling out of GST will strengthen the economy. We are planning to commercially start the production on PMC-IV by the April 2018, right now construction work is on full swing in the existing premises.” India is becoming a big packaging market and to cater the demand “we will produce 250 TPD Kraft paper productions on  PMC-IV aiming the GSM range 100 to 350 and BF would be 16 to 35.” informed by Mr. Reddy. PMC III with an installed capacity of 80,000 TPA designed to produce high BF, high RCT has been successfully commissioned previously. The Future of Sack and Kraft Paper to 2021 forecasts that the sack and kraft paper market in packaging applications will consumer over 10 million tonnes of material in 2016 and be worth around $30 billion globally. Despite the ongoing erosion of this market in industrial applications due to the increasing use of bulk handling containers, good growth in consumer markets will buoy the industry with growth around 4% per annum from 2016 to 2021. This will see consumption in this segment expand to over 12 million tonnes in 2021, valued at $37 billion at 2016 prices. Sri Luxmi Tulsi Agro will invest approx. 70 to 80 Cr in the expansion in the ratio of 40:60 (60 percent from Bank) and raw material to be sourced from India and aboard based on requirement. Mr. Reddy said “Paper machine has been finalized from china but pulp mill section yet to be finalized. The speed of the machine is designed at 400 m/min and deckle is 3.45 (finished) meter. On further expansion plan Mr. Reddy informed that we are changing the PMC-1&2 to White paper (Writing & Printing) production. It is already going on in our paper mill.”
