Creative Papers to Set Up Kraft Paper Plant

Krishnagiri (TN), 10 April, 2017: 

The Indian Paper Mills in dire straits caught between global raw material shortage and rising prices of local wastepaper. Kraft paper production has been shut down due to the price rise in raw material. “Price hike in raw material will have to pass on to end point. We should take it as normal commodity price hike like to other commodities.” said by Mr. P. Chandru, owner of Creative Papers. Ignoring the impact of demonetization and fall in demand of consumer products, Creative Papers is going to set up a 20 TPD Kraft paper plant at Krishnagiri near Hosur in Tamilnadu. “We are hopeful to start the commercial production by end of 2017. We have total budget of Rs. 3.5 Cr. for the project. We are looking for 2nd hand machine for the production of packaging Kraft paper under the GSM range between 55 to 180.” informed by Mr. Chandru.

The global paper packaging market was USD 214 billion in 2016 and is estimated to reach USD 304 billion by 2021 growing at a CAGR of 6%. Indian Packaging Paper Market is expected to grow by 12 % during 2017-18 fiscal.

On the question of disclosing the name of machine supplier , Mr. Chandru said “yes we are in search of supplier and is expected to finalize it after June or July as we are in food business and want to close the deal after Mango Pulp season is over”. Kraft paper production will be based on waste paper as raw material to be sourced from India. The paper machine will have 2 meter finished deckle size and the speed of the machine is not finalised yet.
