Whitefield Paper Mill is expected to start production by Dec 2018

Hyderabad, April, 05, 2016: The much awaited Whitefield Paper Mills project can see the light soon. After suspending the order of Andhra Pradesh government by the court; the path is clear for the paper mill with total investment outlay of 320 million USD. “We are looking the possibilities of starting the commercial paper production by December 2018. We are trying to achieve our financial closure in next three months. 85 % of investment has been arranged and rest of fund is in negotiation stage” told by Mr. T. Srinivasa Rao, Chairman of Whitefield Paper Mills Ltd to ‘The Pulp and Paper Times’ (TPPT).  

White Field Paper Mills Ltd is setting up a 600-tonnes-per-day (TPD) paper mill at Bayyavaram in West Godavari district. The Mill was allocated of 271 acres, including government land of 203 acres. Earlier the Andhra Pradesh government has cancelled the land allotment on the ground that the company had failed to develop the project in spite of being given adequate time for its implementation. On March 27, 2006 the State and White Field promoters had entered into an agreement for setting up of a 2 million tonnes per annum integrated pulp and paper mill at Bayyaram to manufacture coated, writing and printing grade paper with an investment outlay of 1,200 crore.

“This is our win and we are pursuing the project contributing to growth of India. The court has suspended the government’s order and now we have got green signal to pursue the project. Our Paper mill will directly provide employment to 5000 people enhancing their life in all ways.” Mr. Rao said. The paper mill will manufacture 600 TPD (ton-per-day) paper of writing and printing grade. On technical aspects Mr. Rao said that “the machine deckle size will around 7 meters and speed 1400 (m/min). We are receiving all plant and machinery from Metso Finland” Whitefield has received the all necessary clearance from Pollution department. “We will use Market pulp to be imported from Canada and Indonesia for manufacturing the paper .” Mr. Rao Contributed. “80% of finished goods will be exported and rest for domestic market” he added. Mr Rao said “the paper mill, which has been granted the status of a special economic zone, would trigger economic growth in the two Godavari districts.
