Ganga Papers to Set Up 300 TPD Kraft Paper Production

Pune, 5 OCT 2017: Demand for better quality
packaging of FMCG products marketed through
organised retail, rising healthcare spends, over-thecounter
medicines and increasing preference for readyto-eat
foods are the key demand drivers for paperboard
and Kraft Paper. The E-commerce industry is giving a
proving sustainable growth for Kraft paper manufacturers.
“Good Monsoon†and “Make in India†programme
of Government are the main drivers behind the demand of
Packaging Kraft paper.†Talking to The Pulp and Paper
Times Mr. Sandeep Kanoria, managing director of Ganga
Papers India said “We have planned to manufacture 200
GSM plus packaging Kraft paper from mid 2017. The
expansion will be executed at the existing paper mill
building. The capacity of the plant will be 300 TPD. We
have already purchased Pulp mill line from Voith and the
orders for plant and machinery have been placed.â€
Rural economy will have good buying power supporting
packaging kraft paper and corrugated boxes demand in
different segments. “We have estimated the project cost
of Rs. 60 Crore to be funded by Bank and our own. Kraft
paper production will be based on waste paper as raw
material to be sourced from India and aboard. The paper
machine will have 3400 mm deckle size (finished paper)
and 250 to 300 m/min speed, Mr. Sandeep informed.
