The Pulp and Paper Times

Patna, July 5 — Bihar took a significant step towards sustainable industrial growth with the inauguration of the state’s first green paper mill, Saha & Bright Paper Private Limited, in Rukunpura, Patna, on Friday. Bihar's Industries Minister, Nitish Mishra, officially launched the state-of-the-art facility by cutting the ceremonial ribbon.

According to the media reports, This advanced plant sets a new benchmark not only in technological excellence but also in environmental responsibility. Designed for the production of multi-layer kraft paper, the mill will consume 200 tonnes of paper scrap daily, transforming waste into valuable paper products. This initiative is expected to significantly contribute to waste management and environmental conservation in the region.

The project is projected to directly employ around 150 people and create indirect employment opportunities for nearly 5,000 individuals, offering a boost to the local economy.

Calling it a “historic day” for Bihar’s industrial landscape, Minister Nitish Mishra emphasized that this is the first green-technology-based paper mill in the state. He expressed hope that such innovative ventures will inspire more investors and industrial houses to explore opportunities in Bihar. On the same occasion, the Minister also visited a napkin and thermocol manufacturing unit in Mohammadpur, Fatuha, and praised the ongoing industrial development in the state.

Saha & Bright Paper Private Limited was founded in 1998 by entrepreneurs Rajeev Kumar, Manish Kumar, and Vikas Kumar. The newly inaugurated facility is the result of their decades-long effort and vision to achieve excellence in multi-layer kraft paper manufacturing and position Bihar as an emerging industrial hub.
