N R Agarwal to set up a new Multilayer Board plant with a tentative investment of Rs. 1200 Crores

- New Multilayer Board plant with an estimated installing capacity of 1000 tonnes per day (TPD) as Unit VI project
- The Company has also approved purchase of 2013 Make 4.3-meter deckle board paper machine with capacity of 1020 TPD
- Company has decided to permanently close down Unit IV (Duplex Board Plant)

Incorporated in 1993, N R Agarwal Industries Limited (NRAIL) specialises in the manufacture of duplex paper boards with writing and printing paper. The Company has evolved as one of India’s leading producers of recycled paper, possessing more than 30 years of experience. 

NRAIL has now proposed to set up a new Multilayer Board plant with an estimated installing capacity of 1000 tonnes per day (TPD) as Unit VI project with a tentative investment of Rs. 1200 Crores.

Intimation under Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India, NRAIL informed SEBI in a latter on 31st july 2025, that The Company has also approved purchase of 2013 Make 4.3-meter deckle board paper machine with capacity of 1020 TPD together with pulp stock preparation equipment located at People’s Republic of China.

 

The Company is taking necessary actions for dismantling of plant and bringing the same in our Country. It is also in process of acquiring land for the said project.

NRAIL also informs that the Company has decided to permanently close down Unit IV (Duplex Board Plant) which is not in operation with effect from July 01, 2024 as intimated vide our letter dated July 01, 2024.

Recently, RAIL commissioned its expansion program on March 14, 2024, the largest paperboard capacity at a single location in India. The installed commissioned capacity was 725 TPD (2,40,000 TPA) whereas the paper machine is capable of producing 900 TPD following an investment in balancing equipment in the pulping unit.

The Mumbai-headquartered company, with manufacturing facilities in Gujarat’s Vapi and Sarigam, caters to high-quality paper products for both domestic and international markets. Today, the company enjoys a market presence in more than 20 countries across the globe in addition to India. Over the last three decades, it has grown into a packaging board unit with an annual capacity of 1,80,000 metric tons and a capacity of 1,20,000 metric tons per annum for writing & printing papers.
