Morbi to get another new paper mill, Caliber Papers has signed JMC Paper Tech for plant commissioning

Kraft paper, strong and relatively coarse, market is on the rise basically due to an increased urbanization and its recyclable properties all around the world.

"As it is involved with numerous other industries, Kraft paper market is successful in generating an apt outcome which is inter related to its consumption. Kraft papers are also used for the usage in food packaging in the packaging industry," said Mr. Alpesh Bhalodiya, Designated Partner at Caliber Papers LLP.

"We are feeling proud to be the part of Indian paper industry, Kraft paper is one the fastest-growing segment, and despite this pandemic outbreak, the demand of kraft is still at sustainable level and won't go much below as predicted. We are planning to set up a 200 TPD High BF kraft paper manufacturing unit in Morbi (Gujarat), which is expected to start the commercial production by January 2022," Mr. Alpesh Informed exclusively to The Pulp and Paper Times.

Before stepping into the Paper Industry, Caliber Paper- Management team was involved into the AAC Blocks Manufacturing Industry known as M/S. Pravin Buildtech Pvt. Ltd. 

The new paper mills will manufacture 80 to 200 GSM kraft paper under 16 to 24 BF range. "We have signed JMC Papertech for plant commissioning. JMC Paper Tech has most advanced composite engineering unit equipped with sophisticated equipment using state of art technology for machinery manufacturing and fabrication works of Paper plants and Heavy fabrication & precision machining giving it an competitive edge," Mr. Alpesh said.

The new paper machine will have a finished deckle of 3.85 meter and the Design Speed is 450 MPM / Operating Speed is 400 MPM. Parason Machinery will supply pulp mill section.

"We have planned to invest Rs. 50 Cr in this paper mills with all critical components in order to get quality paper. We are also targeting the export market to China and Gulf region,” Mr. Alpesh said.
