Parason expands its footprint in Brazil and Americas by acquiring Calpher Máquinas

The leading global Indian company in Pulp and Paper sector, Parason Machinery has a major breakthrough in expanding its pulp and paper machinery business across Brazil and Americas. Parason has acquired Brazilian giant Calpher Máquinas E Equipamentos Ltda (Calpher).

This strategic acquisition will enable Parason to cater to customers in Brazil, USA, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Central America. Disclosing the fact about taking over Calpher, Mr. Shekhar Desarda, Chairman and CEO, Parason Machinery (I) Pvt Ltd. said that “we are pleased to announce to have completed a successful strategic acquisition of Calpher Brazil. The acquisition of Calpher’s business will enlarge Parason’s footprint in Brazil and Americas, allowing access to an improved level of service, enlarged portfolio and the most complete range of the pulp and paper machinery in the market. The acquisition will open greater opportunities to improve competitiveness in the market,”

Parason is a leader in the pulp and paper machinery having sales and support operations in several countries across the globe. It first started operations in India in the year 1977 at Aurangabad, India. Its worldwide growth over the past years has been exponential, stemming from an increasingly supportive customer base across the globe and a favorable economic platform.    

Mr. Desarda further told that “Moving forward, our combined companies in Brazil will continue to operate as ‘Calpher-Parason’. It will continue to work with the same staff as of today and all of Calpher’s employees are being retained in their current roles. We will gradually add more resources,”

“There will be further addition of product ranges including Screen Baskets and Stock Preparation equipment,” Mr. Desarda said.
