Bell Multi Kraft Plans to Produce White Liner, Virgin Kraft Liner and High RCT Paper

Capacity shutdown in China and plastic ban in India is bringing smile on the face of paper producers. Lots of new capacities are entering in paper making to mainly cater the export market. “Packaging paper is achieving double digit growth among all other segment and this trend may continue for next 3 to 5 years. This could be a golden period for kraft paper and we want to explore this opportunity to the full extent.†explained by Mr. Kishan Kaila, Director of Bell Multi Kraft Pvt. “We are coming up a 300 TPD State-of-art paper manufacturing facilities in Morbi near Jambudiya village in Gujarat. We have invested around Rs. 80 cr. to produce White top liner, virgin Kraft and High RCT paper on the same machine setup. Initially, we are targeting to export of 50 percent production to overseas market and rest to be sold domestically.†said by Mr. Jalpesh Shah, Director of Bell Multi Kraft Pvt. Ltd.
“We are expected to reel out first trial production in January or February 2019 and may go for full commercial production by March end. Our aim is to manufacture High RCT paper with GSM range of 160 to 450 and BF will be 24 to 42†Mr. Kaila informed.
Bell Multi Kraft has imported all the plant and machinery from China while the framing of machine is to be done indigenously by SPM Engmech India. The machine deckle is 4 meter and speed is designed at around 400 m/m. This QCS integrated new paper mill will have all the modern components to achieve the higher quality paper. “The construction work at the site is going on in full swing and pulp mill from Parason Machinery has already been installed. In couple of months, the installation process of equipment and machinery will be finished†Mr. Shah explained further.
“We are also focusing on food grade paper manufacturing in future, and for this we have ordered special equipments from China. Food grade specialty paper is known for ordure and bacterial free, and we are importing foreign Technology to make this paper at par standard. We will also put in place a back water treatment plant considering all the environmental norms and conditions†Mr. Jalpesh said.
Bell Multi Kraft will import about 90 percent OCC grade recycled fibre as raw material. “We are also planning to install a captive power plant in distant future†Mr. Kaila informed. This new paper mill will be providing employment around 150 to 200 people in the region and is expected to invest further in Specialty paper manufacturing in coming future.
Packaging paper & board segment accounting for nearly 52% of the total paper demand in India and is the largest segment in the industry. It grew at a CAGR of 8.3% from 4.3 mn tonnes during FY08 to 8.8 mn tonnes in FY17. Rising urbanization, increasing penetration of organized retail, higher growth in FMCG, pharmaceutical and processed food industries etc. are the growth drivers of the segment.
