Consumption of ‘Paper’ is not a Crime: Karia
Mumbai, September,24, 2016: The figure of Paper Consumption in India is not excited compare to European countries. Ancient India believed that Tree is a GOD ad Modern India believes using Paper is hazardous to environment leading India to lower paper consumption. To create the awareness among the public of using more and more paper in their daily life, a new ˜Paper Man" has landed to support paper Industry. Mr.Samji Karia, a newly elected President of The Federation Of Paper Traders Associations Of India ( FPTA) tells that We need to eradicate the environmental damaging ˜emotions" connected to Paper's consumption.
This is only a ˜myth" created by our forefathers. We are not committing any crime in using paper. In his first exclusive media interaction with The Pulp and Paper Times, Mr. Karia who has been elected as President in 55th AGM held in Grand Hyatt on 23rd and 24th Sept said our children are being taught wrong ‘lesson’in schools that the consumption of paper is always mean to cut the trees. FPTA is planning to start a campaign in the collaboration of IPMAto inclining people of using more paper in their daily life. FPTA aims to unify India's Paper – based trade with purpose in promoting paper’s intrinsic value as a renewable and sustainable fibre based material, enhancing its competitiveness through seeking to reduce legislative and regulatory impacts and in spreading best practice .The Paper and Board Associations exists to promote a better and closer understanding among all those who sell Paper and Board in India and represent their legitimate overall best interests in the local market. Describing his immediate agenda of working, Mr. Karia looks excited about GST regime. "FPTA's first priority is to educate all members of 35 associations about GST guidelines. We want every trader should have deep and transparent knowledge of GST for smooth working.
We are also planning to overhaul some of association who is not performing as per the FPTA's satisfaction. We have 35 Affiliated Members of the Associations ranging from Big & small associations Mr. Harsh Pati Singhania of JK Papers was the chief guest of the function and guest of honour given to Mr. J.P. Narain of Century Pulp & Paper. In replying a question about direct selling of paper by mills and better co-ordination between Paper Mills and Traders Mr. Karia said I have already initiated the dialogue process with mills owner and executives. Every Paper mill requires ˜Middle" man and we will achieve better results
