The recession in some paper grades due to COVID 19 pandemic has been emerging out slowly, Paper mills are aggressively looking out to utilizes the idle paper capacity into other paper products, which are commercially viable and in good demand.
In the present situation, Kraft paper is much in demand due to the operation of FMCG & E-Commerce companies. Recycled based Writing and Printing paper manufacturing mills are mulling over to shift their machine capacities in kraft paper production for the time being.

“We at Khanna Paper mills recently conducted a trial production on our 350 TPD Writing and printing paper machine and we successfully manufactured the Kraft paper. This trial proves that we are viable to produce and sell Kraft paper,†Sources informed.
“Under the present scenario, the market is not good for writing and printing paper’s demand. So, we were evaluating our machine capabilities and analyzing in which other categories we will able to caterâ€, Sources said.
Khanna Paper manufactured 80 to 120 GSM kraft paper up to 20 to 22 BF in trial production.
Sources further inform “We aren’t shifting to Kraft Paper production. We just try to see what we can make out of our machine capabilities. It is better to make paper according to demand rather than switching off the productionâ€.
Khanna Paper has four paper machines, deinking plants, and in-house the captive power plant of 30 MW. The mill boasts with highly skilled production teams, capable of dealing with rising demand of producing a wide range of paper and its products.
