A new capacity in Tissue and specialty paper mfg.; Machine Design, Installation, and commissioning by Saloni Paper Machines

Flourishing tourism and hospitality industry and increasing population of working-class globally coupled with the growing awareness among consumers related to health & hygiene is expected to drive the global tissue paper market. The COVID-19 has raised the demand for tissue papers with people focusing on self hygienic owing to the spread of the virus and preferring to carry products for themselves and also with people who started to stocking up supplies with almost the whole world getting into the lockdown has driven the sales in the market.

“The increasing need for sanitary and personal care items for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene drives the demand for tissue paper products. Also, rising awareness about the spread of the COVID-19 virus is fueling the growth of this market. Rising spending on healthcare by the growing population augments the usage of personal care products and thus nurtures market growth. Additionally, rapid urbanization leads to substantial infrastructural developments resulting in an upsurge in demand for tissue paper products in future years,” said Mr. Bhupesh Padia, Managing Director of the newly established paper mill, Lemanza Cellulose LLP.

Talking to The Pulp and Paper Times, Mr. Padia exclusively discloses its new paper mill’s blueprint, he said, we are very glad to step in backward integration, as we are already in paper converting and trading business; our prime target is to make a significant space in soft Tissue segment. We have a total installed capacity of around 50 TPD, primarily focusing the manufacturing of Tissue and Poster Paper.

“In India, Tissue paper consumption is very less, only 3 % population of India uses tissue paper, which makes this segment very viable. In the next five years Tissue paper will have a maximum growth rate” Mr. Padia says.

Situated at Morbi- Gujarat, Lemanza Cellulose is currently undergoing for trial production, and is expected to start the commercial production in June month. “We would make poster paper for the first three months under 17 to 70 GSM,” Mr. Padia informed.

New Paper Mill will use waste paper and softwood pulp for manufacturing paper. 

The new paper mill will have a finished deckle of 4.2 meters, while speed is designed at 500 mpm.

Saloni Paper Machines undertakes design & manufacturing along with erection & commissioning of new Paper mill & paper machines. ETP has been installed by Krofta Engineering.

“Initially we will export our all production to various countries; we have export divisions in 40 countries. Later on, we are intending to set up a converting unit up to 10 TPD for in-house consumption after six months” Mr. Padia informed.

Promoter of the company already has a converting unit named Danish Enterprises and is engaged in paper trade business.
