Kraft paper is predominately used to make sustainable packaging. There are various factors driving growth of the market globally. The growth of the population is demanding additional food, propelling demand in E-commerce, Pharmacy, and other sectors.

We are expected that the paper industry will resume again same growth once the vaccine of Covid would be in the market. We hope our new Greenfield Project of 170 TPD will yield good returns on our investment,†said Mr. Agarwal.

Kanha Paper Mills is a newly incorporated company for manufacturing of Kraft paper in eastern India. “We have already completed foundation work for setting up the machines. All the plant and machineries have been lined up at the project site. We faced 3 to 4 months delay in project execution due to the lockdown in the country, now work is going on in full swing and we have scheduled to roll out the first paper reel commercially in April 2021,†Mr. Manish informed.
Kanha Paper is targeting to manufacture 100 to 300 GSM paper in between 16 to 24 BF ranges which is suitable for corrugated box and paper bag making. Defining the market opportunities in eastern India, Mr. Manish looks optimistic and said that we have very good domestic demand here, and we are aiming to sale our 70 percent production in domestic market and rest to export in neighbouring countries like Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal.
Kanha Paper has engaged in deploying all modern techniques and equipment for achieving quality paper. “We have engaged Scan Machineries to supply the entire plant and machinery, as well for framing of the machine. We bought the Pulp Mill section from Parason Machinery and one other supplier,†He said.
Kanha Paper has 4.1 meters finished deckle and speed is designed at 400 m/min. In the future, Kanha Paper has also keep flexibility in expanding the production capacity up to 300 TPD.
The new paper mill has ordered to set up an ETP for wastewater treatment to Krofta Engineering Ltd.
“With sustainability being one of the most important issues, use of paper is going to gain momentum in the near future. corrugated paper products have huge scope in the market and it can replace plastic, another opportunity is in the field of folded boxes made out of the worst pulp, in this segment folding box carton and food grade paper packaging material is also a good opportunity to explore,†Said Mr. Manish.
According to the market research report, the global Kraft Paper Market was estimated at USD 15.5 billion in 2019 and is predicted to reach USD 18.10 billion by 2026 growing at a CAGR of 3.5% from 2020 to 2027.
