New Bonanza Paper Mill to Reach 200 TPD With Additional Capacity

"Rapid growth in the residential sector in urban as well as semi-urban areas in India is expected to contribute significantly to overall market growth. Substantial growth in the services and manufacturing sector has led to strong growth in the global GDP in the past. This, in turn, has had a positive impact on the decorative laminates market," explained by Mr. H.R. Singh, Managing Director of New Bonanza India Ltd., an absorbent kraft paper manufacturer.

"With the coming of new lamination industry, absorbent kraft is expected to remain in demand for the next five years. We have decided to explore the lamination market up to full extent by adding new 70 TPD capacity in two phases. The accommodation of critical components like dryers and presses will take our current capacity from 130 to 200 TPD by October 2019. We are expected to modify our plant & Machinery to achieve extra capacity. We will undergo in expansion in two phases, in the first phase we target to add on 30 TPD by March and balance 40 TPD to be operational in October," Mr. Singh told.

New Bonanza is expected to invest Rs. 18 CR in purchasing Dryers, presses, Pulp mill, and the slotted basket from various suppliers. Currently, New Bonanza Paper Mill is producing Absorbent Kraft paper between 110 to 160 GSM. "Our Machine deckle will remain 3.2 meters and existing speed is 300 m/min." Mr. Singh said.

The Absorbent Kraft Paper has good absorbency and penetrating power. The high viscosity Absorbent Kraft Paper is used for lamination. The Absorbent Kraft Paper is basically a normal kraft hydrophilic, porous medium with a high degree of water absorption. It is made of clean low kappa hardwood kraft pulp and has to have good uniformity.

New Bonanza paper mill is also planning to set up a new 100 TPD paper machine in the existing premise. “We are in talks for land acquisition and is expected to have some positive development after 4 to 5 months. Our aim to produce 50 to 60 GSM kraft paper for the market,” Mr. Singh said.
