Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited (TNPL), a Government of Tamil Nadu Enterprise, announced the successful installation of its state-of-the-art 100 TPD tissue paper machine at its Unit-II facility.

The project has been completed within a swift 18-month timeframe. The machine has been designed, engineered, and supplied by Andritz AG, Austria, reflecting global standards in technology, efficiency, and product quality. The trial commissioning phase commenced today, and the machine is currently undergoing rigorous testing and optimization to ensure peak performance.

ANDRITZ has supplied a PrimeLineTM S 2000 tissue machine to produce high-quality tissue grades from the mill’s own hardwood pulp, with a maximum capacity of 34,000 t/a. The machine has a design speed of 2,000 m/min and a working width of 2.85 m.

With commercial production expected to commence shortly, TNPL’s tissue product range in the GSM spectrum of 12 to 38—including facial tissues, napkins, kitchen towels, and toilet tissues—is expected to be available in the market within the next 1–2 weeks.
